Does Your Vehicle Have
Grinding Brakes?

If you hear grinding brakes, this is an indication of a serious brake problem and needs immediate attention.

Once one corner of the vehicle starts to grind, the other brakes on the vehicle have to work that much harder to stop. This will cause the brakes that are left working to wear quicker than normal.

Caused by: Friction material worn off brake pads or shoes, metal backing plate or rivets contacting rotor or drum.

Solution: Replace appropriate pads or shoes. Inspect rotor or drum for damage and replace if necessary. If damage is minimal, rotor or drum can be reused or "turned" by an auto brake repair shop.

Brake tip: If brake pads or shoes are replaced, be sure to change both sides at the same time.
